What Is Gearing in TBC Anniversary?
Quick answerGear in The Burning Crusade grows in clear steps. A fresh level 70 starts with quest rewards and dungeon blues, moves into pre-raid epics from heroics, badges, reputations and crafting, then collects Tier 4, Tier 5 and Tier 6 tokens from the raids of each phase. Alongside sets, a handful of single items such as Dragonspine Trophy or the weapons dropped by Illidan in Black Temple change how a character performs.
Each step depends on the one before it: raid groups expect a certain item level, and the later raids ask for attunements as well as gear.

Single items have their own cards: Dragonspine Trophy, Madness of the Betrayer, Cataclysm's Edge, Zhar'doom (Greatstaff of the Devourer), the blacksmith maces Dragonmaw and Deep Thunder, and the old-world legendary Thunderfury. Crafters who need Nether Vortex for epic recipes can order it as a farm.
Which Gear Boost to Buy for Your Stage
New 70. The pre-raid set is the starting point. Choose the standard set if you only need to be accepted into Karazhan, or the best-in-slot version if you want the strongest pieces before raids. Leveling 58–70 and dungeon or raid attunements can join the same order.
Raiding character. Tier sets and the PvE best-in-slot card follow the raid calendar. Tier 4 comes from Karazhan, Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon's Lair, Tier 5 from Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep, Tier 6 from Hyjal Summit and Black Temple.
One big upgrade. If a single item makes the difference, order it alone. Physical damage dealers often start with Dragonspine Trophy from Gruul, while casters and melee in the last tier look at Zhar'doom, Cataclysm's Edge or Madness of the Betrayer. Blacksmiths can buy only the reagents or the full craft of their mace.

Methods and How Gear Is Delivered
Piloted and Remote Control are available on every gear order, and most cards also offer Self Play, where you join the group on your own character. Each order goes to the highest-rated booster for the class and content, and every new item is shown in the order chat with a screenshot before you confirm.

When can a gear order start?
As soon as a booster is assigned, usually within 15 minutes of payment. Raid items are collected on the next suitable raid reset.
Can I order one item instead of a whole set?
Yes. Dragonspine Trophy, Madness of the Betrayer, Cataclysm's Edge, Zhar'doom and the crafted maces each have their own card, so you pay only for the item you need.
How long does a full set take?
A pre-raid set depends on the speed you pick. Tier sets and best-in-slot lists follow weekly raid resets, so they take longer than single items.
What raises the price of a gear order?
Higher tiers, best-in-slot versions, faster speed, some classes, and extras like attunements or leveling raise the total. Self Play and Remote Control cost a little more than Piloted on most cards.
