  • Service Description

Buy TBC Madness of the Betrayer boost and get the Illidari Council farmed on your character until the trinket actually drops. Not one lockout — as many as it takes. The item is Bind on Pickup, so it only ever lands on the character that killed the boss. That means the farm runs on your account rather than being traded over. Piloted or self-play, EU & US.

  • What You'll Get

    • Madness of the Betrayer — item level 141 trinket with +84 attack power and +20 hit rating, plus the armor-ignore proc
    • Illidari Council boost runs repeated across lockouts on TBC Anniversary realms until the trinket drops, rather than a single scheduled kill
    • Runs booked around your schedule, so the weekly lockout never collides with your own raid night
    • Piloted or self-play — take the seat yourself or hand the character over
    • Everything else the Council drops stays on your character alongside the trinket
    • Hand-played throughout by a roster clearing Black Temple weekly on TBC Fresh Classic, with region-matched access on piloted orders
  • Requirements

    • A level 70 character on a TBC Anniversary realm, EU or US
    • Black Temple access. Entry is gated, and without it the character cannot join the run at all. Not through yet? Our Black Temple attunement boost covers the chain first
    • A physical damage class. The trinket is dead weight on casters. In TBC it suits Rogues, Hunters, Warriors, Enhancement Shamans and Feral Druids
    • For self-play: working knowledge of the Illidari Council fight, since you are in the raid for every kill
    • For piloted: account access for the scheduled runs. We use region-matched VPN and play discreetly, though account sharing carries an inherent risk — self-play avoids it entirely if that matters to you

FAQ

Who drops Madness of the Betrayer in TBC?

High Nethermancer Zerevor, one of the four members of the Illidari Council in Black Temple alongside Gathios the Shatterer, Lady Malande and Veras Darkshadow. The trinket is on Zerevor’s loot table specifically, though all four die together as a single encounter.

What is the Madness of the Betrayer drop rate?

Around 15% — 1,012 drops across 6,702 recorded kills. In practice that means half of all players have it within five lockouts, while roughly one in five is still empty-handed after ten. TBC Classic has no bad-luck protection to shorten that tail.

Is Madness of the Betrayer BiS?

For physical damage in the current TBC Anniversary tier, yes. What keeps it there is the hit rating alongside the attack power — reaching the hit cap from a trinket slot frees up gems and enchants elsewhere in the set.

Which classes should use it?

Any physical damage spec in TBC fighting for hit rating: Rogues, Hunters, Fury and Arms Warriors, Enhancement Shamans, Feral Druids. Tanks get less from it than DPS do, and casters gain nothing at all — the trinket has no spell power or spell hit on it whatsoever.

Do I need Black Temple access?

Yes. On TBC Anniversary realms entry is gated behind the Black Temple attunement chain, and a character without it cannot join the run at all. If yours isn’t through yet, we arrange that first before the farm starts.

Can I do this self-play?

Yes. Self-play puts you in the raid for every Council kill, so the character stays in your hands and you see the drop happen. It does assume you know the fight — the Council is a four-boss encounter with interrupt and spellsteal assignments, so it punishes passengers.

What happens if it doesn't drop in the first run?

We go back the next reset, and the one after that. Black Temple runs a weekly lockout in TBC Fresh Classic, so each reset is one more roll at the trinket. The order is measured by the trinket landing on your character rather than by a number of raids — a single clear is a 15% chance, which is why the farm continues across lockouts.

Buy TBC Madness of the Betrayer Boost — Phase 3 BiS Trinket

Madness of the Betrayer is one of the strongest physical damage trinkets in The Burning Crusade, and one of the least cooperative to actually obtain. This page covers what it does, who drops it, why the farm takes as long as it does, and how the service works.

What Madness of the Betrayer Does

It is a BiS trinket for physical DPS in TBC Classic, and the reason is the combination rather than any single stat. Item level 141, Bind on Pickup, unique, level 70 required.

What sits on the item

  • +84 attack power — flat, always active, no proc dependency.
  • +20 hit rating, roughly 1.27% at level 70. For melee classes fighting the hit cap, that does more work than the attack power.
  • Armor ignore proc. Melee and ranged attacks have a chance to ignore 300 armor for 10 seconds — a straight multiplier on every physical hit while it lasts.

The specs that want it in TBC Anniversary are the ones fighting for hit and armor penetration at once: Rogues, Hunters, Fury and Arms Warriors, Enhancement Shamans, Feral Druids. Casters gain nothing from it at all.

Who Drops Madness of the Betrayer?

The Illidari Council in Black Temple, and specifically High Nethermancer Zerevor within that encounter. The Council sits directly before Illidan Stormrage, so the whole raid has to be cleared to reach it.

The drop rate is roughly 15%. Wowhead’s sample puts it at 1,012 drops across 6,702 recorded kills — about once every seven Council kills.

Why the Farm Takes Months

That 15% is the entire reason this service exists, and the maths is unforgiving. Black Temple runs on a weekly lockout, so a character gets one Council kill per reset — one 15% roll per week.

Half of all players have the trinket after five lockouts. But roughly one in five is still waiting after ten, and that tail is the problem: there is no way to know in advance which group you are in, and the players who end up in the second group spend a large stretch of the tier chasing a single item slot.

Two months of raid nights for a single trinket is a poor use of a schedule. There is no bad-luck protection in TBC Anniversary, no currency to buy it with, and no alternative source. The item either drops or it does not, and the only lever anyone has is the number of attempts.

This is why the offer is measured in drops rather than runs. A single clear is a 15% chance at the trinket, which is a lottery ticket rather than a service. The farm continues across lockouts until the item is on your character.

What Happens After Checkout

  • Pick your method and region at checkout — piloted or self-play, EU or US.
  • Support confirms the schedule and checks your character has Black Temple access. Your Madness of the Betrayer boost then starts on your next lockout.
  • The raid runs on your lockout, clearing through to the Illidari Council and killing Zerevor.
  • If the trinket drops, the order closes. If it does not, the run repeats on the next reset until it does.

Piloted or Self-Play?

Piloted is the practical choice for a multi-week farm. Our team handles every reset without you being online, which matters on an order that may run a month or more. Self-play puts you in the raid for each kill. It is slower to schedule, since it fits your availability as well as ours, but the character stays in your hands and you see the drop happen.

Self-play also assumes you know the Council fight. Four bosses share one health pool, your Mage tank has to spellsteal Zerevor’s Dampen Magic, and the healer needs interrupting — the fight punishes passengers. Our Black Temple raid guide covers the assignments in full.

How Long Does the Trinket Stay Relevant?

Long enough to justify the farm. In WoW TBC Anniversary the trinket holds its slot for physical DPS through the current tier, and the trinkets that replace it come from later content rather than anywhere in Phase 3. That is the honest case for buying now: an item that stays equipped for a full tier earns back the weeks it would otherwise cost.

Worth noting what else Black Temple holds while you are in there. Illidan drops the Warglaives of Azzinoth, the expansion’s signature legendary, so a character already clearing Black Temple weekly for this trinket is sitting in the right raid for the expansion’s legendary chase too.

Why Choose Us

  • The farm runs until it drops. Not one lockout, not a fixed number of attempts — an Illidari Council carry run week after week until the trinket is yours.
  • Honest odds, stated up front. 15% per kill, one kill per reset. Better to order knowing the maths than be surprised by it.
  • Everything else stays yours — every other Council drop, plus gold and reputation from the clears.
  • Organised since 2020, with a TBC Anniversary roster clearing Black Temple weekly and no resellers in the chain.
  • Both methods available. Take the carry piloted for a hands-off farm, or self-play if you want to be in the raid for the kill.
  • 24/7 support and a money-back guarantee on any order we cannot deliver as described.
