Professions in WoW Forever: What Blizzard Has Revamped
World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4, 2026, and professions are one of the systems Blizzard is rebuilding for it. The announcement promised revamps to professions alongside the honor system, and the developers put it plainly: the team is "doubling down on trade skills". Professions in this Classic Plus are no longer a side activity — they feed the social systems, the endgame and the long-term Legacy progress of every account.
Here is what is already known:
- Skill cap 300. Primary and secondary professions go up to 300 skill. Each character has two primary professions and three secondary ones: First Aid, cooking and fishing.
- The familiar trades. Alchemy, blacksmithing, enchanting, engineering, leatherworking and tailoring appear in the Tradeskills menu, with herbalism, mining and skinning as gathering professions.
- A revamped First Aid. First Aid is no longer only bandages. It crafts healing potions, cures and a First Aid Kit for camps.
- Camping. A new social system where players build campsites in the open world and use their trade skills to add buffs for everyone at the fire.
- Tradeskills in Legacy. Tradeskills are one of the six categories of Legacy Challenges. Skill milestones award Legacy Points, and a set of Legacy perks makes every profession faster and more rewarding.
More is on the way. Blizzard has said new profession content will be covered in detail later, and the roadmap lists profession updates for summer 2027. This page is updated as each change becomes official.
The New First Aid in WoW Forever
First Aid is the profession that changed the most in what Blizzard has shown so far. On top of the familiar bandages, a first aider in WoW Forever can now craft:

WoW Forever Profession Boost Services
WoW Forever profession boost services cover every stage of a profession, each as its own order with a clear target:
- Profession leveling. Any profession raised to the skill level you name, from the first point to the cap of 300.
- Gathering professions. Herbalism, mining and skinning leveled, with every material gathered on the way kept.
- Crafting professions. Alchemy, blacksmithing, enchanting, engineering, leatherworking and tailoring leveled, including the materials the recipes need.
- Secondary professions. First Aid, cooking and fishing, with the revamped First Aid recipes included.
- Materials farm. Herbs, ore, leather or cloth farmed in the amounts you need for your own crafting.
- Recipes and crafted items. Specific recipes learned and specific items crafted on your character, as soon as the recipe lists are official.
- Legacy milestones. Skill milestones such as 150, 225 and 300 reached for the Legacy Points they award in the Tradeskills category.
- Full set of trades. Both primary professions and all three secondary ones taken to 300 on one character.
Every Classic Plus profession boost is agreed before it starts: the profession, the target skill level and whether materials come from our farm or your bank. The order closes when that target is reached and confirmed with you.
Gathering and Crafting: How a Profession Order Works
Professions come in two halves. Gathering professions collect the raw materials; crafting professions turn them into items. A crafting profession is only as fast as the materials behind it, which is why most of the time in profession leveling goes into farming rather than crafting.

Skill Cap 300 and the Legacy Profession Perks
Every profession in WoW Forever tops out at 300 skill, and a character carries two primary professions plus three secondary ones. Reaching skill milestones — 150, 225 and 300 have been seen for engineering — awards Legacy Points the first time, and the Legacy system also holds perks that make professions faster across the account.
The pre-release build shows these Legacy profession perks (values may still change before launch):

The first character to take its professions to 300 earns the Legacy Points and milestones, and every character after it levels faster with Working Overtime and Dedicated Study behind it. Professions, Camping and Legacy
In World of Warcraft: Forever, a profession pays off beyond its own recipes. Camping lets players build a campsite almost anywhere in the open world; other adventurers stop by and use their trade skills to craft something for the camp, granting everyone there a buff. The buffs are not instant — players sit at the fire for a while before they apply — so a character with the right professions is welcome at every camp on the realm.
Professions also count toward Legacy. Tradeskills are one of the six Legacy Challenge categories, skill milestones award Legacy Points, and camping has its own Legacy perks for shorter cooldowns and longer rest benefits. A leveled profession therefore adds to more than one character.
