What Are the Warglaives of Azzinoth?

The Warglaives of Azzinoth are a pair of Legendary one-handed swords dropped by Illidan Stormrage in Black Temple, introduced in The Burning Crusade as the first Legendary weapon set in WoW. They are among the most recognizable items in the game’s history — Illidan wields them throughout the encounter and throws them into the ground during the final phase of the fight.

In TBC Anniversary, Black Temple unlocked in Phase 3. The loot table is identical to the original 2007 release. Each Warglaive — Main-Hand and Off-Hand — has an independent drop chance of approximately 5% per Illidan kill. Both pieces can drop in the same week, or neither can. Most characters statistically need 10–30 kills to obtain the full set.

Equipping both pieces activates the Twin Blades of Azzinoth 2-piece set bonus: a chance on melee attacks to increase Haste Rating by 450 for 10 seconds (45-second cooldown), plus +200 Attack Power against Demons — directly relevant inside Black Temple itself. The Warglaives represent absolute BiS for Rogue and Warrior for the entire duration of TBC content.

What Is the Warglaives of Azzinoth Boost?

The Warglaives carry is a weekly Black Temple farming service. Our raid team kills Illidan Stormrage on your character’s lockout — or with your character in the group — every available reset until both the Main-Hand and Off-Hand Warglaives have been looted on your character.
