What Is a Mount Boost in FFXIV?
Quick answerA mount boost in FFXIV is a service where boosters earn a mount for you in the game itself, from the trial, raid or collection that awards it. The Mog Station sells some mounts for real money. Those are a different thing. The mounts here come from duties, so other players know what it took to get them.
Most duty mounts are slow on purpose. Extreme trial mounts drop by chance or cost a stack of totems. The savage key from M12S is limited by a weekly lockout. Set rewards such as Firebird or Wings of Legacy need a full collection before the last quest opens. A mount farm with a booster group turns that wait into a plan with a date.
FFXIV Mount Services
| Service | What you get | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Wings of Legacy Boost | All 7 Dawntrail extreme wings plus Wings of Legacy, or the final quest only | 3–10 days |
| Lowrider T1RANT Mount | M12S runs every week until the mount key drops for you, or 1 to 10 single runs | Weekly runs |
| Mount Carry | Kirin, Firebird, Kamuy of the Nine Tails, Yan, Air-wheeler C9, Apocryphal Bahamut, Ty'aitya, or another mount you name | 1–7 days |
Which FFXIV Mounts Should You Buy?
Go by the duty you'd brag about. Each page here sells a different kind of mount, and the list below sorts them.
- The newest trophy: Wings of Legacy came with patch 7.5 and shows you own every Dawntrail extreme wing.
- The current savage mount: Lowrider T1RANT drops only from M12S in AAC Heavyweight (Savage).
- Older collection mounts: Kirin, Firebird and Kamuy of the Nine Tails reward full extreme mount sets from A Realm Reborn, Heavensward and Stormblood.
- One single wing: Wings of Nihility or Wings of Mist come from one trial each, so the extreme trial carry with its totem exchange add-on is the shorter order.
In words on price: single trial wings and Yan are the small orders. Wings of Legacy with all 7 wings, the Lowrider T1RANT mount package, Apocryphal Bahamut and Ty'aitya are the large ones.
How a Mount Order Runs
A mount order starts when we assign the best-rated booster, usually within 15 minutes of payment, and ends with a screenshot of the new mount in your mount guide. Every drop on the way is reported in the order chat.
All mount services offer Piloted, Remote Control and Self Play. With Self Play you sit in the party on your own job and the group carries the fight. Mounts stay on your account for good, so a farm done now is still yours when Evercold arrives.
Good to know: savage loot is weekly. If you run M12S yourself in a week the group has planned, the chance at the Lowrider key for that week is gone.
For gear and clears without the mount focus, see FFXIV raid carries.
FAQ
Questions players ask
Can you buy mounts in FFXIV?
Yes. Some FFXIV mounts are sold on the Mog Station, while duty mounts such as Wings of Legacy or Lowrider T1RANT must be earned in game. An FFXIV mount boost earns those duty mounts on your character.
Can I pick a mount that is not listed?
Yes. On the mount carry page, write the mount in the order chat before you pay. The team checks the source duty and confirms the order.
Which FFXIV mount boost takes the longest?
The Lowrider T1RANT mount package takes the longest, because M12S loot comes once per week. Wings of Legacy with all 7 wings follows with 3 to 10 days.
Do I keep every mount that drops during the farm?
Yes. Any mount that drops on your character during the farm stays in your mount guide, along with the other loot from those duties.
