WoW TBC Ashes of Al'ar Mount Boost — Legendary Phoenix Carry
Ashes of Al'ar is one of the most coveted flying mounts in World of Warcraft history. Introduced in The Burning Crusade, this radiant phoenix drops from Kael'thas Sunstrider, the final boss of Tempest Keep: The Eye in Netherstorm. What makes it truly special is its 310% flying speed — during TBC, this was the only way to reach that speed outside of reaching Gladiator rank in PvP, making it the ultimate prestige mount of the entire expansion.
Need the full Tempest Keep raid clear for gear, tier sets, and achievements? That's a separate service — see our TBC Tempest Keep Raid Boost. This page is dedicated entirely to the Ashes of Al'ar mount farm.
Why Is Ashes of Al'ar So Hard to Obtain?
The numbers tell the whole story. Ashes of Al'ar has approximately a 1.7% drop chance from Kael'thas Sunstrider — with a strict weekly raid lockout that limits every character to one attempt per seven days. At the median, a player needs over 40 kills to have a 50% chance of seeing it drop. Many dedicated players farm for over a year. There is no alternative way to obtain this mount in TBC, other than the rare Black Market Auction House listing which requires massive amounts of gold.
- ~1.7% drop chance — one of the lowest mount drop rates in TBC
- Weekly lockout: maximum 1 attempt per character every 7 days
- Five-phase boss encounter with unskippable roleplay sequences
- Requires a flying mount to even reach Tempest Keep in Netherstorm
- No guaranteed source — pure RNG, no reputation or currency alternative

How the Kael'thas Farm Actually Works
Tempest Keep: The Eye contains four bosses, but for Ashes of Al'ar farming only the final boss matters. Our boosters walk directly to Kael'thas Sunstrider's chamber, skipping all other encounters, completing each run in under 10 minutes. The fight has five phases including four advisors and a legendary weapons phase — our experienced team executes it efficiently each week, never missing a lockout reset on your character.
After every completed run, your Discord manager sends a brief update confirming the kill result. If the mount drops, you receive an immediate notification and the service is marked complete. If not, the process repeats on the next weekly reset — no action required from you.
Increasing Your Weekly Chances
Every additional Level 70 character is an independent weekly lockout and an independent roll on the drop. By adding the +1 Extra Character Run/Week add-on, you effectively double your weekly probability without any extra effort. Our boosters coordinate both character runs within the same reset window, maximizing the number of Kael'thas kills per week.
