Jewelcrafting is the primary profession The Burning Crusade added. Jewelcrafters prospect ore into raw gems, cut them into socket gems and craft rings, necklaces and trinkets. With sockets on almost every piece of Outland gear, the profession touches every raider and arena player, and a cut Living Ruby or Dawnstone sells all season long.

The profession also makes the meta gems from Skyfire and Earthstorm Diamonds, which fit the special socket on many helmets. Players gear themselves cheaper with their own cuts, and the steady demand for gems on raid nights makes Jewelcrafting one of the better gold makers of the expansion.

What the TBC Jewelcrafting Boost Includes

The booster takes the skill through every stage: copper and bronze settings at the start, low-level stones and jewelry in the middle, then prospecting Outland ore and cutting uncommon and rare gems for the final points to 375. All materials are part of the order, so you do not have to buy ore or gems while trade prices are at their launch-week peak.

You can keep raiding or doing dailies while the climb is in progress. Tell the booster when you want the character, and crafting sessions are planned around your play time, so the profession moves forward on the hours you are offline.
