Buy Leatherworking Leveling — Two Armor Classes, One Profession
Every leather and mail wearer on the realm is a potential customer, and that is exactly why leveling Leatherworking hurts. Skill-ups burn through hides and scales faster than any solo Skinning route replaces them. Then the real wall appears: specialization trees that only grow on weekly Knowledge, however many hours you pour in. We put a dedicated leatherworker on the grind, materials included, tree research timed to every reset. You keep playing the character you actually enjoy.
What Is Leatherworking in WoW?
Leatherworking is the crafting profession that turns hides and scales into leather and mail armor, armor kits, drums and embellished gear. No other crafter serves two armor classes. That covers Druids, Rogues, Monks and Demon Hunters on one side, and Hunters, Shamans and Evokers on the other. Materials flow in from Skinning, the natural gathering pair — add a WoW Skinning boost and the supply chain runs itself. Each expansion keeps a separate skill track, and in Midnight the profession also produces house décor.
What You Can Craft with Leatherworking
Two armor classes plus consumables give this profession the broadest sales floor in the game:
| Craft | Midnight examples | Who wants it |
| Leather armor | Silvermoon Agent’s Sneakers; epic pieces per slot | Druids, Rogues, Monks, Demon Hunters |
| Mail armor | Farstrider’s Razor Talons; epic pieces per slot | Hunters, Shamans, Evokers |
| Embellished gear | World Tender’s Rootslippers | Min-maxers — two embellishments per character |
| Armor kits & leg enchants | Stat kits any class can apply | Everyone gearing up |
| Drums & reagents | Group haste drums; optional reagents like Blessed Pango Charm | Raid groups, fellow crafters |
| Profession equipment | Aprons and tools — Blacksmiths buy theirs from Leatherworkers | Every crafting profession |
| House décor | Leather furnishings | Housing collectors |
Stack crafting orders on top and the math gets friendly. Patron orders pay Knowledge weekly, player commissions pay gold, and a two-class crafter sees more of both than anyone else.
Leatherworking Skill by Expansion
Pick the track you need — each one levels independently of the rest:
| Expansion | Skill range |
| Vanilla | 1–300 |
| TBC / WotLK / Cataclysm / MoP | 1–75 |
| Warlords of Draenor / Legion | 1–100 |
| Battle for Azeroth | 1–175 |
| Shadowlands / Dragonflight / The War Within / Midnight | 1–100 |
Midnight Leatherworking Specializations
Four Knowledge trees unlock as the skill climbs — at 25, 50, 60 and 75:
| Specialization | Focus |
| Learned Leatherworker | Core crafting stats and Concentration efficiency — the tree every build touches |
| Lasting Leather | Leather armor — epic pattern unlocks and quality per slot |
| Safeguarding Scales | Mail armor — epic pattern unlocks and quality per slot |
| Flawless Fortes | Armor kits, optional reagents, utility crafts and profession equipment |
Two facts competitors gloss over. The epic armor path needs roughly 60 points to open, plus about 20 per slot. Profession equipment is simpler — a one-time 50-point unlock covering all tools at max rank. Embellished recipes sit outside the trees entirely — they drop in the world or come from vendors.
Why Does Leatherworking Take Time to Master?
Because leveling the skill is the quick part. Mastery runs on Knowledge Points, and those arrive on a weekly clock nobody can wind forward. Day one delivers a burst of roughly 40–50 points from first crafts and the eight zone treasures. From there the pace settles near 19 points per week, fed mostly by patron orders plus quests and treatises. Midnight also trimmed materials to two ranks and locked the strongest patterns behind deep tree investment. A half-researched leatherworker crafts noticeably worse gear. The boost front-loads all of it: skill pushed, treasures collected, every weekly source claimed on schedule.
