A Reins of the Golden King boost takes care of the guild requirements behind the Alliance lion mount and buys it on your character. It is 1 of the faction-only guild rewards from Cataclysm, so it needs an Alliance character. A booster takes the order within 1 hour of payment.

No calculator options on this card: the order includes the guild steps, the reputation climb and the purchase of the Reins of the Golden King.

What Is the Reins of the Golden King in WoW?

The Reins of the Golden King teach a regal golden lion mount, a guild reward from Cataclysm that only Alliance characters can ride. The lion's armour echoes the banners of Stormwind, which is why it became a favourite for Alliance players who like a mount that shows their faction at a glance. The Horde version is the Kor'kron Annihilator.

It is sold by guild vendors, not dropped. The buyer needs a guild that has earned the required guild achievement and Exalted reputation with that guild. For players in small or new guilds, that second condition alone means a long, slow climb.

How the Golden King Boost Works

At the start, you and the booster agree in the order chat how the guild requirement is covered for your character. The booster then raises your guild reputation to Exalted through quests, dungeons and other content, goes to the guild vendor and buys the Reins of the Golden King. Once the lion is learned, you receive a screenshot and confirm. Your character can be played Piloted or by Remote Control for the lion.

The reputation climb also unlocks the other guild vendor goods along the way, such as heirlooms and guild cosmetics, if your guild offers them.

Buy the Golden King With Other Cataclysm Mounts

Horde alts can get the counterpart with the Kor'kron Annihilator boost. Another guild-vendor flyer from the same expansion is covered by the Dark Phoenix carry, and the Red Dragonhawk boost fills your collection up to 100 mounts; on an Alliance character that achievement gives the Blue Dragonhawk.

How Long the Reins of the Golden King Take

Plan for several days, mostly for the guild reputation. A character that is already Exalted with a qualifying guild needs much less time, since only the purchase is left.
