PoE 2 Against the Darkness is a unique Time-Lost Diamond jewel from the Trial of the Sekhemas, and we trade it to your character with the mods you choose. In 2 Softcore leagues you pick 1 of 10 mod pairs. The trade happens around 15 minutes after a booster is assigned.

Choose league comes first. In Forbidden Rites - Softcore and Runes of Aldur - Softcore a Jewel mods menu appears. The four Spirit pairs and Extra Cold + Extra Lightning Damage are the expensive picks, while Extra Fire + Extra Chaos Damage is the default and the lowest. Forbidden Rites costs more than Runes of Aldur across the list.

Runes of Aldur - Hardcore, Standard - Softcore and Standard - Hardcore have no mod menu, and the Runes of Aldur Hardcore copy costs more. Express delivery is optional and paid.

What Is Against the Darkness in Path of Exile 2?

Against the Darkness is a unique Time-Lost Diamond jewel with small bonuses to elemental or chaos damage, resistances and maximum resistances. Nothing flashy. It fills a jewel socket on your tree with stats most builds can use, and the two damage mods are the part people trade for.

The jewel comes from Zarokh the Temporal, the last boss of the Trial of the Sekhemas. That trial is the same one many players run for Ascendancy points, with Honour as the pool you have to protect on every floor. A self-farmed copy also leaves the mods to chance.

Which of the 10 Mod Pairs Should You Buy?

Go by what your main skill hits with. A chaos mod on a cold caster does nothing at all.

The Spirit pairs cost more because Spirit lets you run one more aura or persistent buff. If your build is short on Spirit, that line can be worth more than the second damage mod.

Good to know: chaos pairs only help if your skill converts or adds chaos damage. A pure cold caster gets more from Extra Cold + Extra Lightning or a cold Spirit pair.

Leagues With and Without a Mod Choice

Only Forbidden Rites and Runes of Aldur Softcore let you choose the mods. In Runes of Aldur Hardcore and both Standard leagues you buy a ready copy as it is. The Hardcore copy in Runes of Aldur carries a higher price.

How the Jewel Boost Order Runs

You pay, the best-rated booster is assigned, and a trade invite arrives around 15 minutes later. Accept the window, check the mods on the jewel and confirm the order. Express delivery buys a spot at the front of the queue.
