WoW Forever does not have a box price of its own. The base game comes with any World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time, the same access that runs retail and Classic. The four WoW Forever editions on top of that (Skyborne Heroic Pack, Skyborne Epic Pack, Warcraft Forever Collection and the physical Collector's Edition) are optional upgrades.

So the real question behind "how much is WoW Forever" is a different one. Do you need anything beyond the subscription? For most players, no. For anyone who wants to play a Skyborne, yes. The rest is cosmetics, Game Time and a bit of Warcraft III.

We leave the price tags out of this guide on purpose. Blizzard shows the current ones in the Battle.net Shop, and they can differ by region and currency. What follows is the content of each edition.

Do You Need to Buy WoW Forever?

No. WoW Forever is included with a World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time, so an active subscriber can play it from launch on November 4, 2026 without buying any pack.

The subscription gives you the full game. That means all nine classes, the eight classic races with their new race and class combinations, the four new zones and the nine new dungeons. On December 9 it also covers the first raids: The Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair. Nothing in the endgame sits behind a pack.

A few things are not sold at all. Blizzard has said there are no plans for a WoW Token or a paid character boost in WoW Forever. Every character starts at level 1.

Skyborne Heroic Pack: The One That Matters

The Skyborne Heroic Pack is the entry edition, and it is the only way to play the new Skyborne race.

That is the whole point of it. The Skyborne start on Zephras Isle, their own zone for levels 1–12, and pick Horde or Alliance at character creation. Without a pack, neither the race nor the island is open to you.

The rest of the Heroic Pack is smaller stuff. You get early name reservation, a Skyborne outfit called Shen'dorei Skyseer's Garb, a bag (the Veteran Adventurer's Rucksack), a toy, housing decor and one Invite-A-Friend code for a friend's launch week.

The mount needs a note. The Cerulean Prideclaw is a ground mount, and Blizzard says plainly that riding skill must still be bought in game. In WoW Forever riding opens at level 40 and is paid to the riding trainer. So the Prideclaw sits in your collection until the character gets there. If you want to skip that part, the WoW Forever mount unlock takes the character to riding for you.

Skyborne Epic Pack: Heroic Plus Game Time

The Skyborne Epic Pack holds everything in the Heroic Pack and adds 30 days of Game Time, beta access, extra cosmetics, tabards and pets.

The Game Time is the practical part. It lands on your account on November 4, which covers the first month of play. Beta access mattered while the beta ran from September 17 to October 21, but that test is over now. If you buy the Epic Pack today, you are buying the Heroic content, a month of play and cosmetics.

It also comes with three Invite-A-Friend codes instead of one. Those codes work during launch week only, November 4 to 11.

Warcraft Forever Collection and Collector's Edition

The Warcraft Forever Collection is the Epic Pack plus Warcraft III: Reforged and its Forsaken Kingdom campaign, and the Collector's Edition is the boxed version of that same collection.

The Warcraft III part ties into the story. WoW Forever is set in year one of the original game, right after the events of Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core. If you want to play the lead-up yourself, this is the edition that includes it. It is a limited-time offer, on sale through January 11, 2027.

The Collector's Edition comes from the Blizzard Gear Store with one copy per household. Inside are a 13-inch Dwarf and Bear statue, a Zephras Isle mousepad, art prints, pins and a companion journal, plus the digital Collection code. It sold out early. Blizzard says restocked copies are due to arrive in February 2027, after launch, so the digital code is what lets those buyers play on day one.

Early Name Reservation: October 27 to November 3

Every WoW Forever upgrade includes early name reservation, which runs from October 27 to November 3, 2026, Pacific time.

That week gives you up to three characters to create and dress up. It is first come, first served, so a name you love might already be gone by the time you log in. Names in WoW Forever have two parts, a first name and a surname, and each full name is unique per region. One name pool covers a whole region, so short and popular names will go fast.

The game itself opens on November 4 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific time. Players without a pack create their characters at that moment.

Which WoW Forever Edition Should You Get?

Pick the smallest edition that contains the one thing you want, because each step up adds cosmetics rather than gameplay.

One common mistake: nobody gets a stronger character from a pack. A Skyborne in a Heroic Pack starts at level 1 with the same gear as a Tauren on the base game. Racials differ by race, not by edition. For the full picture of the version itself, read our WoW Forever overview.

What No Edition Includes

No WoW Forever edition includes levels, gold or gear, and with no character boost on sale from Blizzard, every character climbs from 1 to 60 the long way.

That climb is where players spend their first weeks. If your time is short, FrostyBoost can do the work while you keep your edition's perks. A WoW Forever powerleveling order takes a character from 1 to 60 in about 14 days on the standard pace. A smaller order, the WoW Forever Starter Pack, sets a character up for launch. Both can be ordered now, and work starts on November 4.

FAQ

How much is WoW Forever?

WoW Forever has no separate price for the base game. It is included with any World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time. The Skyborne Heroic Pack, Skyborne Epic Pack, Warcraft Forever Collection and Collector's Edition are optional, and their current prices are listed in the Battle.net Shop.

Is WoW Forever free with a WoW subscription?

Yes. An active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time includes WoW Forever, next to retail and Classic. You can play every class, the classic races, the new zones, dungeons and raids without buying a pack.

What is the difference between the Heroic Pack and the Epic Pack?

The Skyborne Epic Pack contains everything in the Heroic Pack and adds 30 days of Game Time from November 4, beta access, extra cosmetics, tabards, pets and three Invite-A-Friend codes instead of one. The Skyborne race comes with both.

Do I need a pack to play Skyborne in WoW Forever?

Yes. The Skyborne race and its Zephras Isle starting zone come with the Skyborne Heroic Pack and every bigger edition. The base game includes the eight classic races but not the Skyborne.

When does WoW Forever name reservation start?

WoW Forever early name reservation runs from October 27 to November 3, 2026, for players with any upgrade. You can create up to three characters, and names go first come, first served. Everyone else creates characters at launch on November 4.

Does the Cerulean Prideclaw mount work at level 1?

No. The Cerulean Prideclaw from the Skyborne Heroic Pack is a ground mount, and Blizzard notes that riding skill must be bought in game. In WoW Forever riding opens at level 40, so the mount waits in your collection until then.
