Most WoW Forever BiS lists you will find are Classic lists with a new title. Copy one and you'll be farming ghosts. We ran all 603 items from the old pre-raid lists of 18 specs through the WoW Forever item database, and 348 came back empty. So we rebuilt the list from scratch, using only gear you can actually equip in Forever, plus a backup and a source for each slot.
Quick answer:
- Hand of Justice, Blackhand's Breadth, Mark of Fordring, Ironfoe: gone.
- What's left: crafted gear, Dungeon Set 1 and 2 and some quest rewards, many with tweaked stats.
- New reputation gear, Watchers signets and a vendor set fill most of the empty slots.
- Loot from the new level 60 dungeons is not in the database yet, so expect a few slots to change after the November 4 launch.
What Is a Pre-Raid BiS List in WoW Forever?
Pre-raid BiS (best in slot) means the best gear you can put on a fresh level 60 before any raid is open. For WoW Forever, that's the stretch between launch on November 4, 2026, and December 9, when raids unlock. So no raid loot in our tables: just dungeons, quests, professions, rep vendors and world drops.
Each spec table has four columns: the slot, our pick, a backup if the pick is hard to get, and where the pick comes from. Items marked (new) exist only in WoW Forever. Every name links to its Forever tooltip, so you can check the current stats before you farm anything.
Why Classic BiS Lists Fail in WoW Forever
Put the Classic and Forever databases side by side and it's obvious Blizzard didn't just nudge a few numbers. Here's what jumped out at us.
Hundreds of items are simply gone
348 out of 603. That's how many old pre-raid items have no entry in Forever. Necks, rings and trinkets got gutted worst, since nearly every boss drop people used to chase for those slots is gone. Before you spend a week in Blackrock Depths for some trinket a guide swears by, look it up.
Surviving items often have new stats
56 of the items we kept were re-statted. Annihilator is now a 2.40-speed axe with attack power on it, Wolfshead Helm works with the reworked feral kit, and Shadowcraft Cap lost Strength but gained Stamina and Spirit. Old stat weights from Classic will mislead you here.
Healing gear now adds spell damage
Every healing item reads "healing done by up to X and damage done by up to X/3", so a healer's set also helps when soloing. New gear also carries a stat that reduces the chance for your attacks to be dodged or parried, which matters a lot for melee once you are hit-capped.
Where Pre-Raid Gear Comes From Now
With the old dungeon drops gone, your gear comes from five sources. Counting all 18 spec tables, crafted items and reputation rewards cover more than half of all BiS slots.
- Crafting. Classic favourites such as Lionheart Helm, Devilsaur Leggings and Hide of the Wild are still here, joined by new recipes like Timbermaw Tunic, Breastplate of Salvation and Living Crown. Some recipes ask for Cenarion Circle or Timbermaw Hold reputation first.
- The Watchers signets. A new faction sells rings in four flavours: Ferocity for physical damage, Vigilance for tanks, Resolve for healers and Brilliance for casters. The Revered version is the backup, the Exalted Warden's Signet is the goal. You can only wear one.
- Theramore Expeditionary Force and Darkspear Raiders. Alliance and Horde get mirrored gear from these two factions at Honored, Revered and Exalted. They fight over the Darkspear Islands, so expect some world PvP while you build standing.
- Everlook and Barkskin Burrow. Two smaller reputations with useful weapons, shields and trinkets like Everlook Pathcarver.
- A vendor set without reputation. Class belts, cloaks, rings, relics and a new trinket family called Undermine Trinkets, such as Serenity Field for healers and Weakness Analyzer for casters. You can equip only one Undermine Trinket. The vendor and currency are not listed in the database yet; the dungeon currency Tarnished Undermine Real is the likely candidate.
Dungeon Set 1 and Dungeon Set 2 are still in the game, and several of our lists use them for wrists, heads and legs. Quests also hold on: Beads of Ogre Mojo from the Dire Maul tribute quest is the only strong caster neck we could find.
Gear We Left Out on Purpose
Forever also adds Artisan's Tier crafted sets and a row of item level 65 crafted epics. They look like pre-raid gear but are not: their recipes need Malleable Essence of Nature, which comes from disenchanting loot from the Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps raids. The Artisan's Tier pieces also show no main stats yet. PvP rank rewards and battleground reputation gear are out too, since they are a separate grind.
Warrior Pre-Raid BiS
Fury Warrior
Fury leans on crafting: Lionheart Helm and Timbermaw Tunic cover head and chest, Theramore gloves fill the hands, and the Watchers ring covers your hit. Annihilator stays in the main hand for its armor debuff.

In What Order to Collect Your Pre-Raid Gear
- Start reputations on day one. Watchers, Theramore or Darkspear, and Everlook standing take the longest, and their rings and trinkets are hard to replace.
- Craft what fits your professions. The best chest and head pieces for many specs are crafted, and the materials sell for the most in the first weeks.
- Run level 60 dungeons for Dungeon Set pieces and currency. Our WoW Forever dungeon runs cover all of them if you would rather skip the queue.
- Fill the gaps with vendor items once you know what the Undermine Trinkets cost.
Still choosing a character? Our guide to the best class in WoW Forever lines up each class against raids, PvP and farming.
What Will Change After Launch
This list is built for day one. Four new dungeons are planned for Forever, but none of their loot is in the database yet. Krol'dok Stronghold (around level 40–45) and Alcaz Island Prison (around 48–53) are too low to matter for pre-raid gear. Blackmaw Hold and Shaper's Terrace are the two that will count, and their drops will likely push out several of the weaker slots above, especially caster necks, healer legs and Mage heads. We will update the tables once that loot shows up.
Short on time before December 9? A pre-raid gear boost gets your character dressed while you play something else. Once the raids are open, our WoW Forever BiS gear service picks up from there.
FAQ
Is there a pre-raid BiS list for WoW Forever?
There is, the one on this page. Old Classic lists won't cut it, because 348 of their 603 items simply aren't in Forever. Ours uses only gear we found in the Forever database, slot by slot, for all 18 specs.
Does Hand of Justice exist in WoW Forever?
No. Hand of Justice, Blackhand's Breadth, Mark of Fordring and most other named dungeon drops from Classic are not in the WoW Forever item database. Rings, necks and trinkets now come mostly from reputations, crafting and a new vendor set.
Can I use Classic stat weights in WoW Forever?
Only roughly. Healing gear now also adds spell damage, a new stat lowers the chance to be dodged or parried, and 56 of the items in our lists have different stats than in Classic. Compare tooltips instead of trusting an old weights table.
What are Undermine Trinkets?
A new WoW Forever trinket family sold by vendors without a reputation requirement. There is one per role, for example Serenity Field for healers and Defender's Grip Stabilizer for tanks, and you can equip only one at a time.
Which reputations should I grind for pre-raid gear?
Start with The Watchers, since that's your ring. Then Theramore Expeditionary Force if you're Alliance or Darkspear Raiders if you're Horde: they cover a big chunk of armor. Everlook and Barkskin Burrow chip in a weapon or trinket here and there. Crafters will also bump into Cenarion Circle and Timbermaw Hold requirements on a few recipes.
When will this BiS list change?
When loot from Blackmaw Hold and Shaper's Terrace appears in the game data, and again when raids open on December 9, 2026. Pre-raid lists usually settle in the first two weeks after launch.
