The Dreamrift Raid Bosses Guide in WoW Midnight
Chimaerus, the Undreamt God — Boss Tactics
Chimaerus is a two-phase fight built around add control and clean execution. The boss itself isn’t the problem — the adds are.
Bloodlust/Heroism: Use on pull
Phase 1 — The Aln Realm & Add Management
This phase revolves around handling adds from Alndust Upheaval correctly. If your raid loses control here, the fight quickly becomes unmanageable.
Throughout the phase, Chimaerus spawns adds in The Aln. These adds are protected by Alnshrouds, and until those shields are broken, they cannot be killed. If any add reaches the boss, she will consume it — gaining a stacking damage buff, healing, and dealing massive raid damage. This almost always leads to a wipe.
To handle this, position the boss near the edge of the platform. When the tank gets hit by Alndust Upheaval, a group of players stacks on the tank to split the damage and gets knocked into The Aln.
Inside The Aln:
- The tank gathers all adds away from the boss
- DPS focuses on breaking shields quickly
- Once shields are broken, adds return to the main platform
Outside The Aln:
- Players must immediately kill the returning adds
- No add can be allowed to reach the boss
Priority targets:
- Colossal Horror → tank and kill quickly
- Haunting Essence → must be interrupted
Whenever add shields break, they leave behind yellow pools on the ground. These quickly fill the room if not managed.
This is where Consuming Miasma comes in. Random players get this debuff, which deals heavy ticking damage. These players should:
- Use defensives
- Move onto yellow pools
- Call for dispel
When dispelled, the debuff clears all pools in its radius. Proper use of this mechanic keeps the platform playable.
On Heroic, you need to split the raid into two groups for soaking Alndust Upheaval, because the debuff prevents taking it twice in a row. On Normal, the same group can handle it every time.
Tanks should also keep the boss faced away from the raid due to Rending Tear.
Phase Transition — Consume Energy
At full energy, the boss casts Consume Energy.
- If any adds are alive → wipe
- If all adds are dead → Phase 2 begins
This is a hard check. Clean add control is mandatory.
Phase 2 — Movement, Adds & Raid Damage
Chimaerus moves to the edge and begins a breath sequence, flying across the platform and leaving dangerous zones behind while spawning more adds.
The easiest way to handle this is:
- Stack the raid
- Follow a marked player
- Move together across the platform
If players get separated, they can survive by using defensives and crossing dangerous zones — but this should not be the default plan.
During this phase, the priorities remain the same:
- Kill Colossal Horror
- Interrupt Haunting Essence
- Group and cleave smaller adds
The boss also applies Caustic Phlegm, which deals heavy raid damage. Healers should be ready with cooldowns here.
Consuming Miasma still needs to be used to clear ground effects.
Intermission – Major Raid Check
After several breath passes, the boss uses Ravenous Dive:
- Massive raid-wide damage
- Knocks players up
- Consumes remaining adds
Before this happens:
- All adds must be dead
- Raid must be fully healed
If not, the raid will die.
After this, the fight resets back to Phase 1.
If you don’t want to spend hours wiping on progression or dealing with inconsistent groups, a secured provider offers WoW Raid Boost Services where the players can get any loot or rewards from Midnight raids. All runs are done by experienced players, focused on fast, safe, and efficient clears.
Chimaerus — Key Mistakes to Avoid
- Letting adds reach the boss
- Missing interrupts
- Not using Miasma to clear space
- Entering Phase 2 with adds alive
- Not topping the raid before Ravenous Dive

Belo’ren, Child of Al’ar — Boss Tactics
Belo’ren is a repeating two-phase fight where the real objective is to destroy the boss’s egg form.
Bloodlust/Heroism: Use during Phase 2 (egg)
Phase 1 — Light and Void Mechanics
At the start, players are assigned to either via Voidlight Convergence:
- Light
- Void
From that point on, the rule is simple:
- Interact with your own color
- Avoid the opposite color
One of the main mechanics is large soak circles – Light Dive and Void Dive placed on players. These must be soaked by players of the same color. Later, both colors appear at once, requiring proper positioning or coordinated stacking.
Each soak spawns Ember adds – Light Ember and Void Ember:
- Must be interrupted
- Must be killed quickly
When these adds die, they leave behind eggs that must also be destroyed before they respawn, otherwives they can Rebirth.
Another key mechanic is:
- Target a player
- A player of the opposite color must intercept the line
Failure to intercept usually results in death.
There are also orb waves such as Radiant Echoes moving across the room. Players must:
- Interact only with matching color orbs
- Create a safe path for the raid
In heroic mode, in the 1st Phase Void Quill and Light Quill will choose a random player target. Touching the wrong color deals lethal damage.
Tanks handle a rotating set of frontal attacks:
- Light Edict, Void Edict, and combined mechanics
- Proper taunt swaps and positioning are required
Phase 2 — Rebirth (Egg Phase)
When Belo’ren reaches 0 HP, he transforms into an egg and casts Rebirth.
During this phase:
- All damage to the egg is permanent
- The raid must maximize DPS
At the same time:
- The floor splits into Light and Void zones that explode
- Players must stand on their correct color
- The raid takes heavy damage over time
Healers must be ready with cooldowns, especially for movement-heavy moments.
Each completed Rebirth cast applies a stacking healing reduction debuff Ashen Benediction, making the fight progressively harder.
The fight repeats until the egg is destroyed.
Belo’ren — Key Mistakes to Avoid
- Missing interrupts on adds
- Soaking with the wrong color
- Failing orb movement
- Not killing eggs from adds
- Weak damage during Phase 2
Midnight Falls – Boss Key Tactics and Mechanics
Midnight Falls is the most complex fight in the raid, combining multiple layered mechanics across phases.
Phase 1 — Memory & Control
The fight begins with a symbol memory mechanic – Death’s Dirge, Heaven’s Glaives:
- The boss L’ura shows a sequence
- Players must resolve it in the correct order (counterclockwise)
Failure results in instant deaths.
At the same time, Safeguard Prism rotate around the boss:
- Reduce boss damage taken
- Must be interrupted, purged, or crowd controlled
Removing Safeguard Prism deals raid damage, so they must be handled in a controlled order — not all at once.
Adds such as Notes of Despair also play an important role:
- Some apply damage-over-time effects on death
- Others transform into additional mechanics
Killing them in the wrong order can overwhelm the raid.
Players will also interact with Dawn Crystals, which must be handled by assigned players to prevent raid damage.
Intermission — Survival Phase
- The room shrinks
- Players receive healing absorbs
- Spike mechanics force movement
This phase tests positioning and healing coordination.
Phase 2 — Core Activation & Movement
The boss L’ura captures players to the center using an ability Into the Darkwell.
Players interact with Void Cores:
- Galvanize (can also trigger Cosmic Fission) chain effects link players and split damage
- Activating cores incorrectly creates chaos
The raid group must:
- Control which cores are activated – Charged Core
- Manage positioning carefully
- Avoid overlapping mechanics
Phase 3 — Final Execution
The final phase requires using resources from earlier phases:
- Players must use seeds to survive lethal damage
- Stay near Dawn Crystals to avoid damage-over-time effects
- Handle group soak mechanics while moving
When L’ura uses The Dark Archangel – massive raid hit, the players have to:
- Use Dawn Crystals to survive
- Dodge Black Tides from the center of the room.
Additional mechanics like Dark Constellation (The boss creates the stars. Each star connects and creates area denial). The Constellation patterns require coordinated positioning and awareness.
Midnight Falls — Key Mistakes to Avoid
- Failing the memory mechanic
- Removing prisms too quickly
- Poor add control
- Incorrect core activation
- Misusing survival tools in the final phase
