What Is the Ascension Trial in AION 2?

The Ascension Trial is a level 45 challenge dungeon with four tiers and a hard cap on retries: 3 entries per character each week. Spend them badly and you sit out until Wednesday. The dungeon behind the trial also changes from week to week.

It pays materials rather than items. Think Enhance Stones, Growth Pet Chests, Unique Amplify Stone Fragments and Ascension Binding Chests. Enhancement players run it every week without thinking twice. Season 1 ranks it per class as well. What hurts is the death cap, since on Hard two deaths end the entry.

Easy, Normal, Hard or Challenge: Which Tier Fits?

Pick the highest tier your item level already opens, and keep the death cap in mind, because it drops from 5 on Easy to 2 on the top two tiers.
